Hi all,

I understand we've got some issues on here today. If you're having problems could you do one, some or all of the following:

1. If you've seen a post about the problems today, can you leave a link for me here please? I will review as soon as I can. This will help me catch all the problem reports scattered about the site.

2. Send me an email with a picture of how the site looks. You can take a picture of your screen by pressing the "PrntScrn" button. You can then paste this into a word processor, attach it to an email and send it to [email protected]

3. If you have fresh complaints could you post them here and let me know what browser (and version) you're using.

We're sorry about this - something strange has happened somewhere, I am trying to get hold of a techie at the moment!

All the best,

Spare Ed

Hey least Strictly and XFactor are on tonight -could have been worse :)

Its taking ages to open a thread, post (I get thrown back to a page telling me I was trying to access you with adverts down the left hand side -i'll c & p it the next time).

Have to say it seems speedier at the moment -im just back on.No probs with anywhere else -using IE.
I have had a screen where all the categories are in blie font doen the let hand side and no lines or baclground then they seem to twitch back to normal after a second or so. then i get the blank screen saying the connection has gone. I'll doi a copy screen if it happens again, I use firefox and it;s fine on everything else
I haven't noticed a problem so far. I'm using Chrome...
did you see my scottish accent then? ^ Blie (blue) lol
lol.

Think I was a bit previous with my post -it comes in fits and starts -I daresay you have enough info by now and youve dragged the techies out the pub and had announcemnts at stadiums made to get their bums back here lol
just got kicked off again to a plain page with a yelloe triangle with a bolack exclamation mark in it and this message in a BOX:

The connection has timed out

The server at www.theanswerbank.co.uk is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

PS sorry for the gaps but on the original there are none.
Using Firefox ...

kept timing out or loading with what looked like a stripped down basic version of AB with all the text down the left hand side.

Clicking into the post an answer box seemed to be as quick as normal so maybe alls well in AB towers again.
Headwreck - this is how I copied the screen for the Ed (first time today so I'm not that clever!)

Press PrntScrn button
then right click on the page you want to copy
select Select All
then right click again to copy
then open up Word, and right click to paste the doc

save it to your computer then attach to email as Ed suggests above
Yeah dont do what I did if you've anything to hide -lucky I dont lol !!
I've also experienced the same as boxtops.....List of topics down the left hand side.. and as Dris has said about the connections.... " fits and starts".

It's the same on IE as it is on Firefox.....I've tried both. I've even cleared my Cache just to see if it made any difference...which it didn't.

It's seems to be a definite fault with AB. Perhaps the Techies have made a mess of the further 'update' which is being programmed for November. Just a thought Ed.:-)

Ron.
I just hope it's not sabotage by those Baddies who have been stealing our Motoring posts!
boxtops....I'm thinking along similar lines. If 'vrooom' is unethical enough to steal our posts, who can say what next they would do if our Ed has lodged a complaint.

The present position is really annoying me and,as I am being 'timed out' so often, perhaps I should take time out and forget about AB for a day or two....something I don't really want to do.

Ron
Yep VAOR, me too, I keep trying but it's wasting such a lot of time!
Have to be honest -too close to AB being hit with those viruses -and to be honest most people were affected.Luckily we have anti virus software but strange it was AB which was the high risk?
Makes you wonder if there is a roque spammer out there -well does me.
