Hi all,

I understand we've got some issues on here today. If you're having problems could you do one, some or all of the following:

1. If you've seen a post about the problems today, can you leave a link for me here please? I will review as soon as I can. This will help me catch all the problem reports scattered about the site.

2. Send me an email with a picture of how the site looks. You can take a picture of your screen by pressing the "PrntScrn" button. You can then paste this into a word processor, attach it to an email and send it to [email protected]

3. If you have fresh complaints could you post them here and let me know what browser (and version) you're using.

We're sorry about this - something strange has happened somewhere, I am trying to get hold of a techie at the moment!

All the best,

Spare Ed

Hi Ed - these problems have been ongoing since about 7pm yesterday - the grumbles from everyone are scattered throughout other lists (although I posted one last night on CB). My experience (and I'm on IE) is:
Difficulty in navigating AB pages - clicking on a link keeps resulting in "page not available" or similar - but if I click on the page before in my history, I get back in
difficulty in posting answers - the submit button gives me the error mentioned above
Bottom right I keep getting a yellow triangle saying "done, but with errors on page" and then the submit function isn't available
Everything is very very slow - usually a new page will load in seconds but it's taking up to a minute to get the green tracking bar to fill up

I hope this reaches you - 50% of my answers today have had to be cut and pasted and reset!
PS - I'm not having any problems with the AB screen looking any different, mine looks just as it should (except it's frozen from time to time).

FYI I'm on IE if that makes a difference
It keeps freezing almost eevry time I click submit or onto another post.

It says that message with the 'oops internet explorer could not connect to this page'

When it eventually aparantly submits my answer it says 'An error occured while trying to add your answer' on a pink banner at the top of the screen.

Hi Ed. Been trying to get back on here for weeks but because I asked for the link to reset my password (over 20) times and never received anything from Answerbank, I had to re-register using my other e-mail address. I even tried to re-set my password using my PC at work thinking it might have been my laptop, but that didn't work either. So I assume there's been a problem with this link for some time. Regards.
I'm having the same problems as boxtops has described.
Hi Ed,
Just a minute ago tried to log on and I was told page not available.
But when I tried again, the page was available.

Just a hiccup.
It did it again.
At the bottom it stated it was waiting for FLASHTALKING and then pfoof!
I've not had any major problems....or nothing any different from what I often have with my ISP.
I am finding the site a bit slow and occasionally unresponsive (Internet explorer cannot display this page)

wb lardhelmet, I hope the Ed sorts out your problems x

Google chrome seems to have issues with AB
I couldn't establish any contact last night and today hasn't been easy.....I keep getting 'timed out' messages. Then, when I do establish contact with AB, everything moves very very slowly and is also being subjected to 'timed out' messages. My Browser is Firefox and I do not have any problems with other Internet sites.

I'm using Chrome also.
It is so difficult to even submit an answer, this has taken four tries.
I'm using Chrome, and its certainly not as excruciatingly slow as IE has been today, but It's still occasionally slow swapping between pages.
and then I got this....

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to www.theanswerbank.co.uk
The rest of my sites on IE are snapping along today, so it's only AB, still working on steam power!

Ed - this is the message I get when I try to change pages:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Also - at one point - the AB page turned to text, all I got was the list of Topics down the LH side in Times New Roman front, nothing else at all.

As I say, all my other open tabs are loading and updating as quickly as usual, it's only this one that's playing up.

Are you able to give us an update, please?
