mp4 player ?

hi, please l need help , my partner bought a digital mp4 audio player not knowing what to do he put it into his playstation 3 , this was not good because we both use he one conection to our sky broadband my laptop stopped working after hour's of getting my laptop working took 2 hours , now he has asked me to ask on answerbank how does one download music onto his mp4 player we have no idea how to use and download onto it l am so paranoid of him crashing my laptop and dont want him using his playstation 3 where he has loads of music stored on it , we are at a loss and need help urgently can anyone please guide us to be able to download music onto it without it doing anything to my laptop and his playstation 3. l thank you for your assistance.
