My cousin stupidly got done for drink driving and had a ban off 18 months. However as he did a drink driving awareness course, the ban had some time taken off. As the ban is due to be lifted he is looking at some cheap car insurance, as you can imagine this has gone through the roof. No excuses he has been a prized idiot and is very sorry for what he did.
Does anyone have any information on companies that do insurance for people who have had a drink drive ban on a not to expensive level?.
He knows it will be higher than average but the quotes he has been getting are through the roof.
Thats what he has found, although he was told by doing the drink drive awareness course some refered companies would do a lower rate...not the case he has discovered. Anyway thanks for your responses.
I spoke to some one recently who is in a similar situation and contacted several companies that specalise in DD convicted insurance, the cheapest quote being £1600 (approx) and was told he would not get a better price anywhere. He tried a well known high street company who provided the insurance at a little over £500.
Otherwise, try local independent brokers. They tend to know where the best deals are; online comparison sites don't really cater properly for such quotes.
I think the report you read, Eddie, must have contained an error or a typo. Anything going up by 6% per week would increase more than 20 fold in a year and by more than 400 fold in two years!
