I have a hiatus hernia

Hi everyone I have been in massive pain with chest and thought t first it may be heart attack, after significant testing come t the conclusion it is a hiatus hernia, I am massive pain every day and I am just wondering what the best thing to do is, whether it will be best to be operated upon or what, I am seeing a specialist soon and am wondering what he will say if I anyone can shed any light upon this I will be very grateful!!
