Paranorma - Internet bullies

Did anyone watch internet bullies last night?
If not? It was a documentary on the evolving social networking sites which contribute significantly to people becoming subjects to internet bullying. Story told of a young 15 year old girl so badly bullied and publicly over the internet that she threw herself in front of a train. Another 11 year old who was also badly bullied, by people who don't even know her for 'fun' and a 'reaction'. It got me thinking, to how much our society is changing and how easily a person can be influenced or hurt by the internet. I was furthermore shocked to discover a thing known as an internet troll who goes on RIP pages to write abuse. Which sickens me that people actually have no respect at all for our own kind. Why is everyone against each other? Were all in the same boat and I do not understand our nature as humans to actively want to hurt another person or their family. I hope if anyone reading this, who currently bullies someone or intentionally posts bad things about people to spare a thought for the person you disregard and try to empathise and see the situation if the shoe was on the other foot. I don't see why we all can't at least try to get along, or if not able to, have some decorum, maturity and respect for yourself and other peoples feelings. My mother always taught me, if someone hurts you, to have the moral high ground, and not put yourself to their level. It goes to say if people reading this are currently being bullied to remain positive and remember school is not the be all and end all to life, no matter what extent the bullying can get, things can improve if you remain positive. I remember being bullied so much I ate my dinner somedays in the toilets in schools quiet science department. I wasn't much liked as a person and bullied for no reason at all. people who had never spoken to me, bullied me, and although I cried most nights and I felt alone through my adolescent years, I grew strong & from that I have always been a strong, independent character. Now?? Years on from school I have a degree, i am really happy and the people that bullied me? Most have kids and are on the dole. Remain strong and remember, school is not your life, its the start of an amazing adventure that shapes and defines you ready to move into the bigger world.
I'll leave you all with a quote I find useful when others fail to treat me the way I'd treat them:
Let no man pull you low enough to hate him - martin Luther King.

They are few and far between but make the news because of their disgusting behaviour. They are keyboard warriors who would probably run a mile if confronted by any of the bereaved family. Most people still have respect for the dead and rally round when needed so I wouldn't dwell on this minority too much. Well done on beating the bullies yourself and obtaining a degree.
Well written spots - I often ask myself why this is the case. I try to think that there ARE good folk out there - which is really hard sometimes because all we hear on the news/in the press, are BAD stories and bad people. They dont often publicise good news, I wonder why this is so? Think we need more of it, when the nation seems at an all time low, it could really help lift our spirits X
