I think there have been enough films made ,enough songs recorded enough books wrote If we did not have any more I don't think anyone would miss them . People will prob not agree but it makes sense as there are too many films made .if the ones made were important okay but I think it does not make sense to make more .
OK, bad example... but art and films are constantly moving on, and there's every reason to except that this will always be true (along with, of course, plenty of dross). If we had stopped in 2000 we'd never have had the LOTR films, or The Grand Budapest Hotel, etc.
Think we must always move forward - what if they had suddenly stopped making films in 1950? How many people would still be watching them? Same goes for books and songs; they must reflect life as it is, not life as it was years ago.
There are millions of films out ther ,good moderate and awful .so is every film ,song and book trying to be better than those which came before it .some fail by a long way .so if you do something it should be an attempt to better what gone before shouldn't it .are all books film songs a honest attemp to do that.
Not necessarily and that is the beauty of new stuff, we get the choice to decide - like it, don't like it. But to take away that choice simply strangles all future generations from bothering.
Boredom is a terrible thing.
What would you have these potential creative people do? Sit at home and watch Brief Encounter while twiddling their thumbs.
No more books? What a dreadful thought. Is that just for fiction?
Are you saying that those who want to write down the stories they created, cant??
Creativity is part of being human...what of painting, and music? So much would be lost.
Apart from anything else the music film and publishing industries would be obliterated :-)
Back in the late 16th century, just before Shakespeare arrived on the scene, maybe people were saying the same thing ...
