The boy has just rushed in from work, thrown 8p reduced kinder eggs at his siblings and got a lift off himself to go into town to celebrate his A level results (A* B B C) - he's really thrown himself into adulting.

Thanks all - I'm super proud of his motivation as he didn't need to get any specific grades and he's really pushing himself with his fitness training (I realise I sound gushing but I don't have family to boast to).
welldone
I wonder what the boy wonder will study at uni
Question Author
He's not going to uni, he wants to join the marines.
You're children are always going to make you proud sher, well done to the boy . Congratulations mum and dad .
That's excellent - he must be very happy, and you must be so proud

Well done him (and it's Royal Marines)
Well done to him, all the best for the future for him.
With those grades he should make officer rank. Does Sandhurst take RMs?
Question Author
His plan is officer rank, the Royal Marines have their own system and the boy is training to officer levels.
He has done well, he will be high and happy just now.

My niece is talking about joining the Royal Navy in a couple of years.

It must be very exciting for them all
Many congratulations to him!
Always makes you proud. My boy two done well. He took a year off and the job he's doing now they're going to leave it open for him so he can work full time in all the holidays (he works for the Government)

He's off to study history in September. I'm gonna really miss him. We argue like cat and dog but we also get on so well.
Question Author
Ummm - they're not always ready to go at 18, my boy's going to take some time to get his fitness up to the required levels. He got lucky and got a job 4 minutes away so no buses (which stop at six). Bet you'll miss your son though.
