I put a thread up about a problem changing my passord on my hotmail/outlook account and it now seems to have been resolved.

I've looked at the email that prompted me to do this and this is that it said:

Your computer was infected with my private malware, your browser wasn't updated / patched, in such case it's enough to just visit some website where my iframe is placed to get automatically infected, if you want to find out more - Google: "Drive-by exploit".

My malware gave me full access to all your accounts (see password above), full control over your computer and it also was possible to spy on you over your webcam.

I collected all your private data and I RECORDED YOU (through your webcam) SATISFYING YOURSELF!

After that I removed my malware to not leave any traces and this email was sent from some hacked server.

I can publish the videos of you and all your private data on the whole web, including the darknet, where the very sick people are, social networks, over email of all contacts.

But you can stop me and only I can help you out in this situation.

Transfer exactly 800$ in bitcoin (BTC).

For one thing they have not got videos of me as I don't have a webcam so how can they see what I'm doing and if I am doing what they have suggested in the first place.

Anyway, this is just for info in case anyone else gets something like this. My Malwarebytes scan has detected nothing on my PC but its still pretty scary.

Hi Tigger, I've had a similar one no so long ago... but like you knew it was utter drivel... but the password thing was a bit unnerving (It was correct) I deleted it pretty much straight away and changed all passwords as their E-Mail was through Google and was my Google password.

It's been a bit of a nightmare to be honest and having checked my bank accounts over the last few days all seems to be in order.

Got another one this morning! McAfee and Malwarebytes have detected nothing.
