Knitting Question - Something To Make My Knitted Figures Stand Up (For Birthday Cake Decoration Etc)
12 Answers
I returned to (very basic) knitting after about 45 years, and am knitting small figures (about 30 cms high) like teddies, bunnies, etc. Is there something I can buy to hold them upright (rather than leaning against a wall or other structure). I have read about the way to stuff them to improve them, but I have a few bunnies already completed and they have tiny feet that definitely were not made to stand on! I just want them to be able to be upright beside a birthday cake etc, is there something available that maybe would hold them upright? I've genuinely no idea....thanks in advance.

I can do the basic instructions fine, but the making up is a bit iffy, but I'm learning via YouTube. I find it's very therapeutic, and it keeps me off Facebook! Thanks for your suggestions, I'll be doing a bit of research on them, and hopefully will have freestanding figures very soon. Thanks for your help.
Could you perhaps place your creations in bookstands, like you see in public libraries?

A simple adjustable doll stand should do it, an example here.

For dolls with feet, I often used to place a piece of plastic cut from a container as a sole support - that and good firm stuffing helped them stand well.
Difficult with some as you say that have pointed toes.
