leaking batteries
Hi, can anyone help - How do you know when a battery has leaked and is there any danger if the fluid touches the skin, eyes or mouth?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Assuming you mean a torch / radio sized battery, the acid within is clear and midly corrosive - the battery may feel wet to the touch.
It is midly irritating to the skin, and should be washed off thoroughly with cold water if in contact with the skin. It will damage clothing, 'burning' holes in fabric.
