Whats the most recent purcahse you've made due to advertising? Mine was the Jamie Oliver Beef joint hung for 21 days from Sainsburys. Quite expensive but tasted amazing!!

I can honestly say I have never bought anything as a direct result of advertising. I'm sure there are a few products that I buy that also happen to have had advertising campaigns at some point, but no-one has yet come up with an ad that has persuaded me to part with my money based purely on its own merits.

What I would say is that there are many campaigns that actually manage put me off even considering to buy their products (e.g. Burger King, Lipton Ice Tea, Cillit Bang, etc.)

Mrs Pid was, however, seduced by the Marks & Spencer food ads over Xmas & made a special trip to buy the chocolate puddings. Unfortunately they were nowhere near as nice as the ad implied & they were the last chocolate puddings my wife bought from M&S.

Hi Matt, I did the same, and it was superb. I dont mind being seduced by an ad. If the ad pricks my interest or makes me laugh, I will buy the product. Agree with Stoo, I will conversely take umbrage with companies whose ads I dislike.

Other things I bought thru ads are Orange mobile, Motorola phone, Tango Lemon. Febreze (I love the dog)

Ads I hate Oust, 3, Kinder Bueno, Quote me Happy, I could go on....

I like the TESCO ads, but have always shopped there anyway. Surely they don't need to advertise?
Well the day after seeing the amazing ovenglove by JML I rushed out and bought it it's perfect
Well I dont know about the advert but I will now go and try the beef after your recommendation
