Help, I took my pill late!!!!

Hello everyone,

Firstly I just want to say I think this site is fantastic and seems to have given a load of support to many people in distress!

I hope someone might be able to help me with my question, so here it is...

I am taking the Cilest contraceptive pill and this is my third month of taking it. I take it at midday everyday. This Wednesday (day 14) I only remembered to take it at midnight, so 12 hours (exactly, funnily enough!) late...

I took the next pill at midday the next day as usual and have continued doing so since. I unfortunately went through the ordeal of an abortion earlier this year and am absolutely terrified of something happening again so really would be so appreciative if someone could tell me whether I need to use condoms until I finish the pack in 5 days time?

hey sunny,

If you forget to take the pill as long as you have taken the pill correctly in the last 7 days and have seven or more pills left to take then you will be covered. If you have not got 7 pills left to take then you need to start the next packet of pills as soon as you finish the pack that you are on. You will find that you will not get bleeding until you finish the next packet.

oh and i forgot to say, i ould use condoms asa well, better to be safe than sorry!

I don't know the answer - I could hazard a guess but wouldn't want to give you the wrong advice about something as important as this - but I'd suggest using condoms for the next 5 days just to be on the safe side.
