Trivia fans - did you know that because the Alan Price song used on the ad. was based on a hymn, the ad. was unable to be broadcast on Sundays because it broke some obscure advertigins law regarding use of religious music in ads. being played on Sundays.

And how many protests did it take to get this law enforced, and the ad. removed from Sunday viewing? One. That's right, just one person complained, and the ad. was pulled.

It was recently voted one of the all time great adverts and there was an interview with Paula Hamilton - still a stunnng looking woman!! She wouldn't get away with the fur coat these days

The music was 'Changes' by Alan Price. It was originally featured on the soundtrack of Lindsay Anderson's film 'Oh Lucky Man' starring Malcolm McDowell. Yes, it did adapt the melody of a well known hymn which itself, like many hymn tunes, may well have been a traditional air.
