Can anyone tell me which female singer sang a song which hd a lyric that sounded like 'I'm beaten up in love again...'. The, I suppose, bridge has the line 'don't try to make it right' or 'no time to make it right' TWICE before the aforementioned lyric. Can anyone help? The song has a very strong keyboard/piano section, and also what sounds like some organ in there. A crazy guitar riff. And a singer who kinda sounds like Neneh Cherry or Linda Perry. Thanks.

I bought this years ago, and I am sure it was by a female group called the Doves. Not to be confused with the more recent group by the same name.
I have just checked, and it was the Doves. See following link where you can buy the song.

It was actually mostly a male group, but on that one song Angie Brown took lead vocals (she usually just did back-up). I recently bought their album "Affinity" just for that one song, but it's not only a rather dull album, the song itself isn't as good as I remembered it either.
