why does my cat not like cat food?
My cat, a healthy 3-y-o moggie will not by choice eat Gocat dry cat food or Whiskas tinned cat food even when hungry. But she will eat Pal dry dog food. The only clue I can think of is that she may be dominated by my dog and thinks that she is only allowed by the dog to eat dog food. I have to feed her out of sight of the dog. She is otherwise healthy but not very friendly. She loves fresh mice which she catches in the garden. She will sometimes eat Whiskas but I haven't a clue when she decides this is OK. I'm thinking of trying fresh meat (mince, not mice!). Anything else like sardines are a bit expensive. Any advice?

I agree with IAP. My cats are very fussy eaters. They won't touch Whiskas but they do like Felix As Good As It Looks pouches. If I get them anything else they just eat the gravy or jelly and leave the rest to go hard. I always puts some crunchies down for them as well. They like the Iams and Purina ranges. They like Whiskas crunchies as well. Don't forget plenty of water when giving them dried food.
Good luck.
Good luck.
I find my cats are exactly the same. You give them fresh water in their water bowl and they go out in the garden and drink water from a puddle. I think that cats would rather drink out of puddles or containers in the garden because the water has no chemicals in. They may be able to smell the chlorine etc in the water out of the tap
