Not seen the ad, but `The end of the world` was a hit for Skeeter Davis in 1963.Could this be the one ?

Yes the track is by Skeeter Davis and it is called "The end of the world" recently used to advertise KFC. KFC have been using a lot of Northern Soul tracks over the last couple of years, but this is a nice piece of country.
