I have been working my way through a Food and Drink Cryptic Clue Quiz for ages and have got completely stuck on some questions. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
Below is the clue and in brackets the number of letters in each word.

17 looks like it should be fromage frais but only 4 letters in second word, could it be a mistake?

Hi Gingiecat! An alligator pear is another name for an avocado pear in America.

Thinking out load here now, just looked again at
Rhyming Kings Statue and wondering if its a spelling mistake and it should be
Rhyming Kings Statute.... which could then be COLESLAW
(Old king Cole / Statute = Law
Unless anyone else comes up with something better
