Hi my mate is selling his car but it is a cat D due to some sort of previous damage is he entitled to tell the buyer when selling it again no1 told him before thats why he is asking local trade man told him that dealers have to but private sellers dont have to is he right??

You are right, the V5 won't have a marker. The decent thing to do is to declare it though, someone will still buy it.
from my understanding it only has to be disclosed if the buyer asks, it does not have to be volunteered.
But bear in mind it will show up if an HPI check is done.
Do the right thing!!
