What advert did this line come from? It was a few years ago, and the line in question was said by a young boy after talking to an adult man.

I don't remember that line, but there was a Bold washing powder advert many years ago where a white coated washing machine engineer service type guy said to a young boy "That's progress Sam".

Might be, but I distinctly remember the young boy running off shouting the line in question.

It was definatley also a line from the film "Strictly Ballroom" spoken by the heroines Dad, who was running for some local polital office...

DVS is absolutely right. I don't know why I thought it was an advert. A small boy asked Bill Heslop for his autograph when he was running for some government post. After he gave it, the boy ran off shouting the line in question. Cheers DVS!
