What is the strongest hayfever tablet you can buy over the counter?

You can buy anti histamine over the counter. Personally I prefer to get Combination H - a natural remedy which gently alleviates the symptoms of hay fever. Over the years I am pleased to say the condition has lessened to a greater extent for me. My sister, who never had it as a child, suffers quite badly with it now.

Is 'combination H' anything like 'Preparation H' ? ;-)

The one's you can buy aren't very strong. My son suffered really badly, really swollen eyes, sneezing, can't breath, headaches and he also gets asthma with his hayfever. We often changed the tablets regularly which worked better than using the same ones all the time. Also I have just bought him a thing called a Hayband off the internet and trust me, it has transformed his life and he has only been using it for three weeks! It works on the idea of acupuncture and you wear it on your arm. There is a little plastic 'button' on the hayband which puts constant pressure on a point on the inside of your elbow. It is very unobtrusive and wearable, is skin coloured (or pink - if you would want to wear pink), washable and it works - so far, so good. You can wear it all the time and you can also take your other medication whilst wearing it. Give it a try, it only cost us £12.00 inc. p & p. Let me know how you get on.

I took a combo of Cetirizine and Loratadine. That worked best for me.

If you can find a health store near you,ask them if they sell local honey,it's just the same as treating like with like,I got some for my son and it works a treat.

I know you asked about over the counter but the ones I get are on prescription and are branded as telfast 180g, they are the only ones that work for me. I first got them in Oz where you can buy them over the counter.

Thanks for all your answers. The loretadine based tablets seem to be more effective than the cetirizine for some reason. Definately going to give the hayband a go though. Thanks

or for a natural alternative try the Qu-chi acupressure band. Dr Rosemary Leonard mentioned it in the express last week and was in the sunday mail a few days later. Its about £7.50 on amazon and is their best selling hayfever relief product. There are reviews all over the internet about them
