Looking to have her roof repaired, How come she cant afford to have it done in dribs&drabs as the builder was offering? It's not like she lives an elaborate lifestyle, she has/had a job in the taxi firm and 3 lodgers, so why cant she afford it ?

The builder wasn't offering it in dribs and drabs at first, he wanted cash up front. It was only when he learnt that Eileen had recovered a large debt which he had forgotten about, that he realised he might have been a bit harsh and offered to do the job in instalments, unaware that Eileen had already paid the ten grand into her own account.

I didn't get to see either of the episodes earlier but I did see her pay a cheque for £10k in. Where did that come from?

Carla from the factory came round to the yard to pay 10k she owed for building work. Eileen told her to leave the 'payable to' bit blank as she had a stamp, then paid it into her own account. Of course, Carla meets Owen later in the pub and mentions she has just dropped the check off. Cue storyline.

DSJ, Eileen has told Dosy she has to pay rent, if she want to carry on living there, But anyway, I dont see why she cant get her son to do the job, he's a builder and it's just a small roof.

Now I remember that house belonging to Steve McDonald and at one time he was going to sell it as he was strapped for cash, Eileen paid rent and couldn't afford the rent-rise he was asking......
How comes she now owns it? she didn't have a pot to p!ss in.
I watch Corrie all the time but don't remember the outcome.

Eileen didn't buy it then, it was a company that bought it.

I just found out that ,........... Eileen bought her house with the inheritance money she got from Colin, Owen surveyed the house to make sure Eileen was making a good purchase, Does this jog anyone's memory ?
