Sorry to be graphic but dogs are alive in markets in Korea with their legs disjointed and tied across their backs. They have used tin cans over their jaws. I don`t even want to think about it and I like the people in the Far East but I`m afraid I hate their attitute towards animals.
"If it moves, the Chinese eat it, if it stays still they build on it"
"What's the only thing with four legs that the Chinese do not eat?"
Answer - "The table."
Actually, I have never seen horse on the menu and they dont like cheese generally. There are big regional differences. Lamb in the North (esp in Halal restaurants) but hardly seen in the South, other than some Szechuan restaurants) and vica versa as to birds (other than chickens and ducks). Mao had a thing against birds and tried to rid the country of them back in the early 60s......so I guess from a food perspective, they died a death back then in the North, so to speak.

didnt say that goat wasn't tasty - it is - good grief, the point is that it is executed there and then in front of you while you are eating. I can just see Gordon Ramsey doing that in his restaurant, or the local fish and chippie half cooking a fish for you so the tail is dead and the upper body is thrashing (yes that is a delicacy in Shanghai)
