define to me what is humane.....the fact that the animal sees the knife or doesn't (in most cases execution is very quick - can't say that they aren't well fed, they are or the meat would be manky. The treatment in cages as to joint breaks, yes I would agree and that goes on all over the Far East.
There is a brutality in all of this but then people love cheek to jowel (as in 4 to probably the size of your living and dining room in Hong Kong) and many do not have fridges - ina 35C+ heat, fresh meat is imperative.
The original question was has anybody seen the ITV news blah blah think it was China? and thereby inviting comment. There was a slight inference to treatment at 19.30 by Jules but only slight, so I would argue the scope for comment is pretty open - and, by the way, I have not seen much response from him as we have gone on.
