frontline is good, when the fleas bite the cat they die!........you should probably buy a spray from you vet to treat the soft funishings and carpets in the house.....they will still all die eventually if you don't do this, as they need to hop back onto the cat to feed, and then will die, but they may well bite you in the meantime!.......
I got Johnsons 4fleas household spray for the house (expensive mind!) and treated my cat with Advantage (only available from the vet) as I didn't think Frontline was working. Hope this helps.
Advocate or Stronghold for your cat. R.I.P. for your home. All from your vet. It will be hard work to clean both cat and home but follow the instructions. Don't try and uninfest your home with something from the pet shop you will be wasting your money. Good luck.
Frontline spoton doesn't work anymore on lots of cats. Avoid.
Frontline 'combo' (not spot on) this can only be purchased at the vets as your cat will need to be weighed and have a general healthcheck as it's a very strong insecticied but works 100%, they will recomend a aerosol spray for your home.ladybirder is right ,do not purchase from a pet store ,most 'over the counter' products are not affective as they do not have the same levels of insecticied(they are'nt allowed to sell it!!)

Our cat is rid of fleas now, but our home is not, HELP
Read my 22.14 post pipers - R.I.P. from vets circa £15 I think.
I agree with ladybirder and have in the past bought stuff from pet shops which have been a waste of time, but this Johnson's one is quite good if you are desperate!

Sorry lady my head is in the shed at the moment, thank you all.
RIP really works,as does Indorex-which is cheaper. Both a good deal cheaper online.
DON'T bother with anything from pet shops-they won't work.
I Forgive you. I Forgive You. I Forgive You. X
Oh...if Frontline is effective on your cat/dog...try Effipro-same ingredients and cheaper.
BTW pipers, treat your home quickly or your cat will have fleas again, in fact may have them again now. Sorry it really is a pain.
Just a funny story, Boots got fleas once and Puss seemed to sense this, he would not walk on the floor but walked from room to room along the furniture, top of cupboards, jumped from sofa to chairs to window sills, Puss never got them. Got rid with Fronline Combo.
They never cease to amaze you do they? How clever.
I know, it was very strange, Puss was a very clever cat in fact he was more like a dog, he knew when I was coming home from work, he would always be sitting in the drive when he heard my car from yards away. The other thing he did was sit on a suitcase when it appeared prior to going on holiday and sulk.
How funny. A friend of mine's cat used to position himself at the bottom of her drive when she was due home from work. She'd stop and he would hop onto the car and ride up to the house on the bonnet. It's always the males I hear these stories about. Perhaps they are the smarter sex - only in cats I hasten to add.
We used to take the kids camping, as soon as we started loading stuff into the trailer the cat would turn his back on us!
Pipers we had lapsed on flea treatment and had them in the house but found that Advantage for the cat plus wilko's own brand spray for the house did the trick.
