since my old boy Boots died. I thought I would not ever get another cat, but been thinking about a Maine Coon, there's one here, he's a beauty. I don't know whether to go and see him, I know what will happen if I do.
I saw his picture a couple of days ago and can't get him out of my mind. Does anyone know if Maine coons want to wander outside, I have been told that they are house cats, I suppose it's what ever Boris has already been used to, I shall not know that untill I ring them, but if Boris is still available I think I will go and look see.
I don't know if they wander-but they are supposed to be real 'people' cats. Just follow your heart-you know you want to. ...and look for B00-she's gotten a Maine Coon kitten... ;-)
It was a maine coon that Boo got, like Craft said. I think they look lovely. Very big though! I would have one myself if Sooty wasn't so anti social :|
I'm not trying to put you off, because he does indeed look beautiful but they are very big and you cannot see by the picture just how big he is. When they refer to him as a gentle giant, makes you wonder about the giant part.
Boris is beautiful and handsome - you should get in touch and see if they think that he would settle down. You haven't got a big garden area but he would be able to potter around.
I hope that your OH has found a new hobby now that he isn't allowed to play with us on AB. I miss his stupidity - surely he can't be bouncy and cheery all day!
I have to admit the 'giant' part would appeal to me. My Caspar is a bit of a lump, and I used to have a big black cat that weighed a good stone. Wonderful!
wolf63, bouncy and cheery all day?? well you are very astute, but hay ho he is fine and wants a cat as much as me, he loves the bones of them. First time without a cat in the house for over 50 years. I am going to get in touch with the cat rescue place and go from there, will keep you all in touch with news of Boris.
That's good to hear Puss. When I had to have my mog put to sleep this year I thought I couldn't handle having another, as it would hurt too much when time comes to say goodbye again. Well balls to that notion. I bit the bullet and not only got a lovely kitten but also a mature dog from a rehoming centre. It may well be hard when the grim reaper pays a visit but the joy these two furry friends yield in the meantime more than makes up for it.
It seems a Maine Coon is not for me, but an 11 year old Tom who was left by a lady who died is wanting a home. Oh God !!!! my heart is being ripped to bits. Please bear with me through this, I'll get there in the end.
