Cat Bathroom Advice Please ....
23 Answers
Currently I have a cat litter box (deep one that is supposed to have a lid - but the lid is long gone) in the bathroom and have been using Tesco low dust lightweight cat litter. This cat litter has vanished from Tesco and they have been unable to tell me if it will be back (repackaged and repriced).
I have now decided to move the litter tray (planned for a while) out of the bathroom (have now done this with no problems) but am unsure what to do about a new litter/litter tray system.
Has anybody tried one of the litter disposal systems (like this http:// www.zoo plus.co .uk/sho p/cats/ cat_lit ter_lit ter_box es/catl itter_d isposal _produc ts/2075 14#more ) or one of the new fangle cat litter boxes (like http:// www.zoo plus.co .uk/sho p/cats/ cat_lit ter_lit ter_box es/litt er_boxe s_nofil ter/lit ter_box es_with out_fil ter/213 992 ) or any of the others on this page http:// www.zoo plus.co .uk/sho p/cats/ cat_lit ter_lit ter_box es ????

Got it as its big, to fit evil spawn of satan's fat hairy arse and to keep smells in, it does the job, after a fashion. If I don't scoop daily, the smell does manage to seep out.

BOO - if your little spawn of the devil can get into it that means my evil Princess will too.
It is the litter that is annoying me (Fluff - I got in touch with Tesco and they were unhelpful, they are usually quite helpful) - they stopped selling it before and brought it back with less dust and more cost.
The stuff that I have is like white flakes of muesli - not a good look and I am unsure about flushing the solid bits away.
I have seen litter trays that can be plumbed into the mains which could be a selling point when/if I ever sell the flat.
I really don't think that Tesco realise just how picky cats are when it comes to food and cat litter.

jomifl - I have two moggies. Frankie will just go and do his stuff, his sister Merlin (described by the vet as 'vacant' and 'a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic' is the problem.
If the all-singing and dancing trays are too complicated for her to use then she will go elsewhere.
The litter tray is in the cupboard outside the bathroom and is being used - but the muesli looks awful.
Snags - we don't have a Sainsbury's but will order a bag via the internet shopping.
Why are cats so complicated?

Wolf I like this stuff from Asda. It come in 20L bags so lasts for months. It clumps together when wet which is useful. It's very heavy though so I have it delivered. It's a brilliant price for that amount of litter. There's a cheaper one that doesn't clump.

We've got the biggest hooded tray we could find from Pets at Home, but we took the cat flap door off to encourage the kitten to use it. We use Tesco wood pellet litter which basically sticks to the poop or breaks down into sawdust when peed on. We always use a tray liner and add litter deodorant powder to it. We scoop into a plastic bag morning and evening and just throw it in the normal bin, but we use lemon bin deodorising crystals (a little sprinkle every time you put a poop in there) This is all in the kitchen, where we have one of those automated air freshener sprays as well. It seems to be the least amount of mess and smell possible although granted it needs discipline with scooping and using the crystals.
