Hedge Clipper Handles Dropped Off.

Manual clippers with wooden handles that slip over the metal tangs on the blades, and are supposed to stay on but have recently both become detached. Is there some sort of compound I could shove into the handle slots before pushing them back onto the tangs? Something that would 'cement' them in place for good?

Use some 2 pack epoxy resin.

I've experienced this problem in the past and wrapped some tape (plastic or masking) around the tang, to pack it out a tad.

Thanks, Chip. I've been reading about gorilla glue and it sounds promising. It needs dampness to cure, and it expands a bit which seems a good thing with a repair like this. Ha anybody here
used it?

"Gorilla Glue", yes, excellent stuff.

It's really just a variety of any polyurethane woodworker's glue.
They are "thixotropic", (expands when in contact with moisture.)

that is not what thixotropic means. If a fluid is thixotropic, it means that its viscosity decreases with time when subjected to shear stress - e.g. stirring or shaking

I solved the same problem using a solvented filler-adhesive material, of which No Nails, Gripfill, etc. are examples - hasn't budged in 2-3 years. Gorilla Glue is good stuff but I think it might not be quite as useful in this application as the filler-adhesive.
