Could My Brother Get In Trouble For Intentionally Crashing Into Someone While A Dog Was In His Car?

My brother was arrested last week, because he intentionally ran into another parked car, because they were driving recklessly. I guess he was driving on a one lane 5 mile an hour road with graval on both sides. A guy behind him sped up to 20 miles an hour to pass him, almost hitting people in the process. My brother tracked the guy down and found the guy in a parked car in a parking lot, then my brother ran into the other guys car. I didn't figure this out until a couple of days ago, buy our mom's dog was sitting in the back seat, and the impact caused him to fall onto the floor of his car. He wasnt harmed or anything. He called my mom to come to the scene, and he put her dog in my moms car before the cops came. Obviously he got arrested and went to jail for a couple hours, and his court date is coming up to see what his sentance is. I was thinking of telling the cops that there was a dog in the car. Do you think he'd be charged with animal cruelty? We are in oregon us.

The dog is irrelevant. I imagine in Oregon or anywhere in the civilised world it is illegal to deliberately crash into someone so he can expect prosecution.

I suspect the police won't bother charging for the dog, too much paperwork. 

The RSPCA might have something to say, but I doubt it. 

Try telling your brother he should not do the job of the police, he might come worst off one day. There are some really nasty people out there. And the laws are way too soft to sort them out. Hence why we have so much crime and murders etc.

Here in the UK it is illegal to deliberately crash in to another vehicle, building, structure, person with or without a dog.

I don't think the law will care about the dog in this case, regardless of where you live.

Cindy has asked before if she should report her brother for past perceived transgressions and also said she hasn't spoken to her psychologist in a while or reported either of her parents for perceived animal abuse. So far there have been no fires, explosions, dead animals, or work related disasters because she hasn't reported something "bad"

In the Uk dogs are required to be on a harness when in the car does that not apply in the US.
