Why do people like cats?
And why do other people's cats like my garden so much? How can I keep the moggies out?

2. other peoples cats possibly see ur garden as a sort of no-mans land which is up for grabs to whichever cat can defend it!
3.apparently getting a man (preferably one u know and who isnt going to think ur weird) to wee round the boundaries of ur garden helps.

My cats are fun, affectionate, and great company. They are far more independent than dogs and do not rely on you as much. Other cats probably like your garden because they are territorial - they will try and claim your garden as their own. We have loads of cats around here, but they all know that our cats have a 'patch' ie: our garden, so stay well clear.
maybe they like your garden because you don't like them.
I love cats and dogs, but cats are akward little pests and they do things to suit themselves. The actively attack the hand that feeds them, act as alarm clocks etc.
Maybe they are just enjoying tormenting you.
Sonic scarers apparently work.
My brother is at war with the cats in his area. I think that he will be purchasing a super soaker next, from the toy shop.

Sonic scarers, coloeus canina, and other products do have some effect, especially if you have a small garden. But if you have a larger than average plot, it can soon get expensive. The last house we lived in I counted that approx 14 different cats used our garden, they seemed to have their favourites places to excrete. The most effective and cheap way to stop this practice, was I kept all the trimmings from berberis, holly and other prickly things and laid them in their favourite spots, which had the desired effect. The only downside , was these had to be removed when maitaining the garden. Have also heard that orange peel, broken egg shells are also good, A friend use to put small amounts of gravel in empty coke bottles, with some effect. But needed a bit of breeze to move them, to rattle ,apparently it frightens the cats.
