My 1.5 y/o cat makes some really odd noises - especially when he is in a mischevious state of mind, he 'chirrups' like a bird....does anyone have any idea on what this would mean - is he bored, he then goes on to attack my slightly older cat who is not amused and I have noticed the younger cat mounts the older cat.....even though they have both been neutered.

Mine makes a sort of 'hrrrp' when he's playing, racing us up the stairs or when he's rolling onto his back, so I think it's associated with play.
Mine chirrups when hes playing, its a play thing. I don't think hes attacking your older cat, just trying to play with him. Why not get a stick with a feather on from a pet shop and play with him yourself when he gets like that. Hopefully this will wear him out and the older cat will be left in peace.
