Hi I thought I would just post this, it's not a question but a kind of a silent scream really. 3 mths ago my family and I moved house with our 2 cats. approx 3wks ago 1 of the cats vanished. with hinde sight I should have asked my neighbour if she had seen my cat. I had mentioned to my family that I'd had a feeling that the neighbour may have given the cat away. I had never met my neighbour so had no evidence to base this hunch on. It was so unlike my cat to go away, however, my cat wouldn't come in the house before she vanished, Like a child I began to joke with my friends that the lady next door was a witch and she'd put a spell on my cat preventing her from coming into the house. Well!! to day for the first time I spoke to the neighbour, and asked about my beautiful cat ,her reply was, 'I feel awful now, I asked every body! I took her to animal rescue' But she didn't ask me! when trying to assertain whether it was my cat she had napped, we had agreed it was the one that used to sit on the deviding fence. Surely it wasn't difficult to work out ,new cat, new neighbours. Of course I rang the animal rescue only to be told that if the cat has been re-homed I have no legal right to have it retuned to me unless the new owners agree. My only peace of mind is that my little puss has gone to a good home and has not being hurt. I'm not expecting any replies to offer solutions I only needed a forum to shout HOW CAN PEOPLE BE SO STUPID? My first meeting with my neighbour and I don't want to meet her again. Anyway, she isn't a witch as a real witch wouldn't do what she did without using their common sense. Thank you.
Visit the animal rescue place, maybe it has not been rehomed yet, as its only three weeks. Tip: don't tell them its your cat, tell them you are looking for one, or else they may not let you have her back! If she's not there you could always give a home to one of theirs.
I agree, I do have another cat and I will have him chipped.
The rescue place already know of the situation as I rang them straight away. i do need to ring them back when they have had time to go through the papers, I would also like to visit to see for myself. I'm sure she's in a good home as the rescue place do, as far as i know check up on the people who take the pets away, it's a pity that they don't do more rigerous checks when they are brought in.
OH MY GOD!!!!! I am so sorry and can really feel your pain.
My first instinct would be to find my kitty after painfully murdering my neighbor of course!
Didn't she realize if she was able to pick up or easily catch your kitty that it was a domestic pet and not a homeless feral.
I hate people like that! Sounds very suspicious to me. Why would she do that and not even check with her new neighbors! I'm incensed for you!!!!!!
Stupid cow!(that's the cleanest name i can think of)
I hope you and your baby are reunited. Try and see if she has been re-homed because i know if i had adopted a kitty that had basically been taken from his/her original parent by mistake i would give him/her back. I couldn't sleep at night knowing your heartache if it was me.
Good luck!!!!
I just had a thought. So if someone hated someone and to be vindictive they took their pet and gave it to animals rescue who then re homed it would the original owner not be able to get their pet back? I find that hard to believe!!!
just my 2 penneth again.
I would raise merry hell at the animal rescue and say my neighbor stole my cat and vindictively handed her in to animal rescue. I would demand my cat back!!!!! I WOULD NOT stand
for it or take no for an answer!!!!! I'll be praying you are reunited as i'm sure she misses her mum and is probably wondering where you are and why she is in a strange new place. Any adopting family can adopt another poor homeless kitty because your kitty is not homeless and needs to come home where she belongs!
It's a good thing i dont live next door to your neighbor!
wow i totally agree with kaylamay - go and cause chaos at the rescue centre. What a horrible, thoughtless thing for your neighbour to do. I really hope u get your cat back - good luck!!
