Rather, it's all about dominance and achieving submission of the mounted dog... Not unusual and seen in neutered males as well. There are occasions where a highly receptive female coming into estrus will mount a seemingly disinterested male to solicit his interest...
My GSD bitch is always doing it to my springer bitch, she is not interested in any of my other dogs. The look on my poor springers face is one of oh no not again. It is definatley a dominance thing and she is trying to establish an alpha female role although she isn't the alpha female. We have had the springer the longest so the GSD is trying to say I'm the boss. Some times it even causes fights between the two, nothing to bad just a skermish.
My golden retreiver (spayed bitch) always humped towels!
Don't think that was a dominance issue!
My little one does it to her half sister. Usually while she is eating a biscuit or a chewy. She just carries on regardless.
Leave them alone.. at the end of the day.. its natural for them.. you have sex dont you?? so why cant they..lol
my Staffordshire Bull Bitch does it all the time to my 7 month old staffy dog. He hates it, cause she does not let him try with her. (dont worry they have both been DONE!) Me and my partner often find that we cant get her too excited otherwise we get humped. It is just part of nature though....even if its the other way around. I mean....no man would ever complain about a woman doing all the work in the bedroom so why complain about a bitch wanting it more than the dog!
