Advice on pregnant cat with only 1 kitten
I took my russian blue to the vets sat to confirm her pregnancy. They done a scan but it only showed 1 kitten.
They told me this is quite rare but it does happen.
They told me that due to only having one kitten it could become very large and may have to be delivered by c-section. I have never had any experiance in cats having c-section so any advice would be great.

Hope you have insurance as a C section is very expensive. I was dreading that when my cat gave birth 4 weeks ago as she went 8 hours after delivering 2 kittens to delivering the other 2. Thankfully everythign was fine.

The majority of cats give birth without any problems. The scan may also be wrong, if she has a kitten/kittens tucked high up they may not have shown up, so she may end up with more than one. Provided your vet is aware when she is due, I would wait and see what happens - your vet is probably just counting the signs!
Funnily enough i was 99% sure she was pregnant and only took her in for confirmation. They charged 67 just for a scan so you are probably right about the signs.
Hopefully she will go through the pregnancy ok but im just a little worried as i havent had to deal with the posibilty of a C-section before.
