female cat acting odd with her kittens

about one month ago she was done at the vets. now when she comes in she hisses and growls and hits the kittens. can anyone tell me why??? thank you

I had the same problem a few years ago with one of my cats. When we had her "done" it seemed to take away here mothering side. making her less willing to put up with her babys playing around her.
this calmed down after a while though, as the kittens got abit older. although i would keep an eye on her for a while when she is around the kittens.
depending on how old the kittens are if they are still trying to feed from her... you may need to hand feed them. if they arn't on solids.
also some mothers are funny about the smell of there kittens. if they have been hadled alot they will not smell of her any longer. so she may not think they are hers.
