hi all, getting straight to the point, my jack russell is allergic to grass, as soon as he touches it he comes out in a bright red rash on the parts of his body that he has touched it with, we use sudocrem on him to heal it and give him one piriton a day whilst he has the rash, it then takes about 4 days to heal up. has anyone any ideas how to prevent this or had a similar experience?
This happens to my friends dogs, I will ask her and let you know what she does, although I think she uses Piriton too.
I know she walks him on the roads and keeps him off grass as much as possible during the summer months, as thats when it is worse.
Hi I am a dog walker and this happens to one of my clients dog-she is a English Bull Terrier 8 years old-her condition started 4/5 years ago-some yeas or worse than others-I will ask her what she does and get back to you
Spoke to my friend and she said it is a seasonal thing between May and October, hasn't beenso bad this year due to the wet weather and is also worse when there is a lot of pollen about.
Vet prescribes Betnovate N cream, and a low protein diet (she uses Chappie). Also recommended not to bathe unless really necessary, if possible just shampoo the area and rinse well if he rolls in something nasty.
