male rabbit extreme scent must be some mating scent??
5 Answers
It is the first spring/summer I have had a male rabbit who is sexually active/mature.
The smell of urine/musk is over powering and like nothing I have smelt before, is this normal can I do something to reduce the smell or would it just be 'having him done' which I wouldn't do because of the risks.
He is an indoor rabbit and lives in our lounge that being the problem with he smell. Also will this continue throughout summer??

What do you mean 'because of the risks?" The risks are no more than in any other animal or human. The best thing you can do for him is have him snipped, he will become bad tempered and aggressive because of the pent up sexual feelings.
You really should talk to your vet about it, ask him/her how many of these types of operations they have performed on bucks and also make sure they use isofluorane gas and invisible, dissolveable stitches.

in rabbits this is a natural problem as with any house animal he is marking his territory and also it is beacuse the females would be in season around this time so he is letting off the smell to attract the female rabbits , the only way i can think of to stop him from doing this is apart from gettin him done is to find a smell that he finds absoulty revolting and then spray it by the areas where he is marking his terrtory this should deter him from doing it
