My partners 12 yr old boxer dog has been shaking so taking her to the vets blood tests said there was high potassium and also a lump in her stomach but due to her age thinks best to leave it, she doesnt seem in any pain she does need to go to the toilet every couple of hours or theres an accident and still sleeps in a hard bed, what is best to keep her comfortable and why is she shaking?

Did the vet give any treatment (tablets, injection etc.)?

Did they say what this lump in the stomach was?

The fact that she needs to go to the toilet every couple of hours shows there is something wrong - I would not be happy to just leave that.

To be honest I would get a second opinion, from a different practice - as soon as you can.
Has the vet mentioned kidney disease?

I wouldnt be happy to leave her shaking as she could be in pain, and as Kita says, would try another vet for a firm diagnosis and treatment to keep her comfortable.

What do you mean by a 'hard bed'?
