new kitten

our new kitten is doing ok and lucy ( 10 yrs ) is ok with her lilly sprints to the food bowl and lucy steps back and lets her eat her fill ,is this the norm? The only time she hissis at her is when the kitten bites her tail. when i am in bed the kitten gets onto the bed and lays on my sholder she sucks on a spot on my neck i think she thinks its her mum and trys to feed. Has anyone come across befor please?
