Dog has been barred from the groomers......
Took my westie to the dog groomers today, half an hour later had to go and pick him up as she couldn't cope with him.
He apparently (I didn't know about this) craps all over the place every time he's there, and gets uncontrollably upset and wound up so he's always a struggle to clip. Today was particularly bad as he suddenly developed diarrhoea and sprayed it all over the place........she now won't have him back.
As he's a westie he obviously needs regular grooming but I feel I must explain what he's like to any other groomer who takes him on.......any suggestions please?

It amazes me that so many old people have them because they are 'lovely little dogs' and then find out what they are really like. I have only ever known naughty Westies. But I love them just the same.
Don't know what the answer is except perhaps sedation!!

I think dogs take to some groomers & not others. My last dog refused point blank to go through the door the second time I took him to one particulare place. However he happily trotted off every time with another lovely place that I found.
The dog I have now has a mobile groomer ...best thing I could have done, he's very good....and they're much cheaper.

My ex-mum in law's dog got banned from a pub. It was back in the days when health and safety laws were lax (animal rights too, come to think of it).
Every Sunday they took Shane (huge alsatian) to the pub for Sunday lunch. They'd give him an ashtray full of beer under the table, which he loved. (One of those big round ashtrays .... don't expect you see any of those in pubs nowadays ....)
Anyhoo, he was always very well behaved, but one Sunday, having had his ashtray full of beer, he stood up and trotted off, with the table and all the Sunday lunches on his back.
The landlord gave him an instant ban.

Is it possible to groom him yourself - or is it too difficult? I have never had a dog with the type of coat that needs grooming. Attempting to groom my long-haired girl cat has been painful and has meant trips to the doctor to get my wounds seen to.
Isn't Barmaid's cat called ASBO - wonder what he did to get that name?

wolf I can't groom him myself......westies have double coats and need stripping as well as clipping.
I've found another groomer and she's going to pick him up next Thursday. She says it's okay if he craps in the van 'cos she'll just hose it down......she doesn't seem at all fazed by what I've told her.....
