There's a dead fox lying just at the side of a main road. It's been there for a few days now. I would like it removed as a lot of children walk by there and I feel they might be frightened at the site of it, it's not very pretty I tell you!

I don't know if I'm just being totally thick but I cannot think who you'd call to remove it! Is it the local council?

If anyone could help that would be great, thanks!

Yep, the Environmental Health people at your council.
Ring your local council up and they will shift it.

Thanks very much, super fast answers! :-)
I picked one up a few months ago and put it on a grass verge. The remains are still there.
Gotta say I'd do the same as lankeela, pick it up and sling it in a hedge or similar.

Use the meat - all part of the Green drive - however green, scrape off the mould
Bristol council are very quick at picking up road kill. I think it is regarded as a hazard to health. They also pick up fly tipping within 48 hours of you ringing, which I think is very good.
It amazes me how many so called animal lovers and anti fox hunting brigade will drive past or over a dead or injured fox - I always remove any animal to a verge or hedge where they won't get further squashed (or take to a vet if still alive).
lankeela
same here if its safe to do so i'll remove any animal that's dead off the road and into a hedge,I carry disposable vinyl gloves for this purpose
