he was stolen?
Are you sure he has not got locked in a neighbours shed or something. We had a dog that was locked in a school during the holidays. Returned safe and sound a week later. Hope they find the pooch. Although suspect he may be gone forever.
How sad. Poor little thing. Have you called all your local rescue centres and informed the police? Is he chipped? What sort of person would do this you ask - some piece of scum who will probably try and sell him.
Probably not what you want to hear, but sometimes old dogs take themselves off when they are not well. Have you put it on 'doglost'?
Petal, I think he may have gone to his rest. It's heartbreking I know.
check around all the vets, dog shelters etc put up posters, advertise in local papers, get on web sites which deal with lost dogs and check with the local council in case he's been run over (they would have dealt with removing him from the road) and check with the dog warden. Don't give up, he may still be found - hope he was tagged and microchipped. Good luck

sorry for delay, nips either stolen or if just let out he ran off, which, knowing my mother as I do,she'd say he'd not run off at his age ,but who'd be sure!been in touch with neibours, vets pound etc,no joy I'm sad to say.we live in hope, but prob gone to the bunny chasing field in the sky
I know it may have been mentioned, petal, but check in garages or sheds. My Dad's neighbour lost his dog last summer, looked everywhere and thought he had been taken off - after a week, a neighbour just down the road, opened up his garage and there sitting in the corner was the lost dog. He had not barked or made any sound - he was dehydrated but after having the once over from the vet was fine.

He must have run in the garage when the neighbour had his back turned and not noticed him when shutting the door. It can happen.
Aww I hate it when pets go missing, it's the not knowing what's happened to them that is upsetting. I hope Nipper is found asap. x
