Since I posted about the critter in our garden 2 weeks ago http://www.theanswerb.../Question1031061.html we haven't seen it we supposed it had gone into hiding being shy of the attention it generated But hey it's back his morning and has grown a little bit but not much been able to capture another photo of it and still don't know what it really is so any more help that could be given would be appreciated ta everso!!
I would say a rabbit too. Could his ears have been cut off (like for dogs), or could it be a malformation? You said it didn't hop, but ran like a rat?
Has it left any tracks in your garden (I was thinking of 'poo' mostly)? Rabbits eat their own pellets, but so do some rodents. Once the 'food' has had a second go through their digestive tract, they then produce small, dark, hard pellets.
Safiya you are right it is doing well and has grown a little, it's quite friendly doesn't mind having it photo taken but as soon as you open the door it scoots! Haven't seen any droppings.......... and as it's raining here today not going for a look either - sorry
I was convinced it was a baby rabbit first time round, but now I'm not so sure ! I'm with Safiya, looks like it might be crossed with somehting else, but goodness knows what.
Earless rabbis are a fairly common mutation and mother rabbits have been known to chew off ears of a baby if she stressed. Your cute 'critter' looks like a contender.
