Hiya
When our cat came in Friday night and she had a very droopy tail and didnt like us touching it. She is normally very expressive with her tail twitching it like mad when she is annoyed. She seems ok in herself, still eating and doing her "businesses". Any ideas? Is it a Vet thing?
Thanks

My cat was cage bound at the time because of his other injuries sustained in the accident so I asked if we could wait and see if his tail recovered. Thankfully his tail function came back.
A few months ago the same cat's tail went droopy again and he hated anyone touching it. He camped out under the bed and when we managed to drag him out he had a massive lump at the base of his tail. A trip to the vet later we discovered it was an abcess after a cat bite. The vet had to slice it open to allow the blood and puss to drain out. Within hours he was using his tail. A course of antibiotics later he was fine.
Your cat needs to be seen by a vet as if you leave his tail droopy it could cause him problems in the future. A cat needs his tail for balance, however they do adapt well if he/she needs to have it amputated.
Good luck.
