Dogs have a way of making people feel special and loved. I miss having a dog.

Someone asked the vet in the Telegraph why non-humans often have short life spans - this is part of his answer, I think it's the non scientific bit of the answer. :-)

"humans are born with a need to learn important life lessons – how to love. This takes decades. A dog is born already knowing how to spread love and so its time on Earth is much shorter."

indeed paddy, its unconditional love isn't it? I read somewhere the other day, can't remember where, that a dog is the only thing on earth that will love you more than itself, how true eh?

We OK most of the time but it's the little things that get you, I was really choked yesterday when my neighbours visiting 5 year old granddaughter asked if my doggy was poorly as she'd been at her grandads two days and he'd not been out to say hello to her.
