my border collie pup has turned into a woman - sob
she's been bleeding for a week approx now. How much lomger will i have to be careful around boys?

At least another two weeks - she will stop losing blood before then though, but the crucial time is when it turns more of a straw colour. Even after she stops losing colour she will be attractive to dogs and she will be as keen to get to them as they are to her.

If you are not going to breed it is kinder for her to be spayed, it will prevent a lot of womb problems that may well occur in the future, and you don't have the male dogs at the door problem.

further to lankeela's answer, she will also become even more swollen as she reaches the key time.
But I also go along with Milo who says have her spayed if you don't intend to breed.
