Microchipping mutts

If you are planning on having your dog micro-chipped it may cost you £30 but the Dogs Trust is doing it for free. I haven't looked into the 'small print' as I don't have a dog (yet).

I have my fleabag felines chipped and it is reassuring to know that if they get lost they might find there way back home. That is if Frankie survives the afternoon without me throttling him. ;-)

We also have a local agricultural college which trains students in various animal related courses who offer cheap microchipping for £10. Pets at Home and Jolleys also offer cheap microchipping on special days. Many of my friends do microchipping of dogs and puppies and we mostly charge around £10 - £15, sp all this talk of it costing £30 - £35 is nonsense. Its only vets who charge that much and most of them only charge about £25.
When I had Max "chipped" nearly eleven years ago the vets were doing a promotion, when you gave your puppy the full course of injections they'd "chip" him for free at that time the cost of the injections was about £15 and I noticed that they would run this promotion a couple of times a year so it's worth checking with your vet if they do anything similar. I took my niece through to have her pup "chipped" a couple of months ago and it cost £18.50p
