I saw a man today who had a baby pigeon hidden in his coat, he had rescued it from seagulls, the pigeon was quite happy and seemed to have no intention to flying away, he was feeding it and this little bird was just sitting quite contented. The man was obviously homeless (carrier bags of his belongings by his side) never seen anything like it before.
Whilst working in a pet shop years ago, we had a regular customer who came in with a Cockateil in his hand. The Cockateil was born with deformed legs so couldn't sit on a perch or feed itself. The man would look after it 24/7, never left his side. Cockateil lived to a ripe old age of 13.
Thanks very much for posting that, Wildwood, was very interesting to see. He is an unusual bird and he doesn't have a breeder's ring on his leg, which surprises me. I have two white doves visit every day and I do wonder if they've got any connection with him.
