Some people!

Just infuriate me...
I have a vague acquaintance on FaceBook, and she posted her cat wasn't well, so I asked what was wrong and just got this back...
" He was sick last night and I hadn't seen him all morning, went outside and he was under a bush he couldn't stand up, I thought he had been hit by a car a first but no other signs if that, he is very unsteady on his back legs and won't eat or drink, he is cold and shivering, got him wrapped up in a blanket at the mo, and he hasn't moved for about 2 hrs"
I mean for Gods sake, any normal caring person would take it to the vets- right? I don't understand some people I really don't! And yes, i've told her so too!

I have a certain amount of sympathy for your friends attitude.......cats seem to have their own specific way of dealing with diseases........going under a bush, not eating and staying away from humans is a typical response for cats.
I would certainly give it 24hours to see what the situation was, before taking it to the vets.

I dunno Pasta :-(
I did suggest that it could very well have been hit by a car and have internal injuries.
As ive said, there's not a lot more I can do, I nagged and suggested walking up to hers with my own cat basket if she wanted, which I would gladly have done, which is when she came back and said she's waiting on her husband.

Sounds to me like the cat is in shock of some kind, either from an injury or from infection. Whatever the cause it sounds very serious to me and frankly I would have been in a taxi and on my way to the vets not posting on Facebook. I'd worry about paying for it later, there is no excuse for letting an animal suffer. I hope for the cats sake it gets treatment soon and that it's not too late. Keep us posted Boo.
This poor woman with the cat may be frantic, stuck at home with small children , or no form of transport to get the cat to the vet -she is keeping it warm and waiting for her husband to get home- really no need for all this venom. Those of us lucky enough to be able to jump in a car and rush the cat to the Vet would do so but none of you (even the OP) know her personal circumstances -its not like she can call an ambulance. I hope the Cat is ok but find this 'mob' mentality a bit disturbing ;-(
Cats don't like to be seen as weak and often play down any injuries - usually they can be quite ill before we, stupid, humans realise.
Frankie usually goes a bit weak and pathetic when he is ill (typical male) but his sister (Princess Stupid) has never been ill.
I noticed earlier that Frankie had a couple of holes in his face that weren't there this morning - they are Princess claw sized holes.
Hope this little pussy cat is okay.
