I have a vague acquaintance on FaceBook, and she posted her cat wasn't well, so I asked what was wrong and just got this back...
" He was sick last night and I hadn't seen him all morning, went outside and he was under a bush he couldn't stand up, I thought he had been hit by a car a first but no other signs if that, he is very unsteady on his back legs and won't eat or drink, he is cold and shivering, got him wrapped up in a blanket at the mo, and he hasn't moved for about 2 hrs"
I mean for Gods sake, any normal caring person would take it to the vets- right? I don't understand some people I really don't! And yes, i've told her so too!
BOO...that is a very sad outcome and these things happen, come what may.I hope that the owner does not feel responsible as taking the cat to the vet earlier would have made no difference to the outcome in my opinion.
She came into work yesterday and when I asked her, said he had a habit (cat not vet!) of drinking out the toilet, and she'd forgotten (!) and put toilet cleaner down it that day.
I don't have a cat and this is a serious question. Are cats likely to drink a chemical toilet cleaner? I find that hard to believe but as I said I don't have, and never have had, a cat
How awful! If she knew the cat drank out of the toilet why not put the lid down or shut the door to the room and stop him going in there at all! That's terrible! The poor cat must have been in agony!
